A brief description of the item or project
Approximate age and condition
Your location and any timeline considerations
I work with books, manuscripts, journals, scrapbooks, photographs, loose papers, and small personal or institutional collections. This includes family heirlooms, cookbooks, church records, student materials, and local history items.
If you’re unsure whether your item is a good fit, feel free to ask—assessment is always the first step.
I specialize in conservation-minded repair, meaning my goal is to stabilize and preserve—not to make items look brand new at the cost of their history.
Some damage (severe mold, pest infestation, or complete structural failure) may limit what can safely be done. I’ll always be honest about what’s possible before any work begins.
Each project is handled individually, but most follow this general process:
Assessment of damage and materials
Planning the safest repair approach
Cleaning (dust, debris, old adhesive where appropriate)
Structural repair (sewing, mending, or rebinding as needed)
Final stabilization and review
I focus on longevity, reversibility where possible, and respect for the original item.
Pricing varies based on the item’s condition, size, materials, and required time. Because no two projects are the same, estimates are provided after assessment.
Discounts are available for select projects and groups.
Additional details are available on the website under Pricing and Policies and are discussed during the consultation.
